Archaeological excavations in 1904 brought out history's largest and richest art craft finds from the Viking Age. Magnificent Oseberg ship 21,5 m long, Oseberg carriage, five carved posts with animal heads, four sleighs, beds, chests, handlooms and many others.

There are many great opportunities for swimming along the most length of the Tønsberg’s coastline. We recommend Ringshaug beach, Skallevold, Fjærholmen and Lilleskagen.

The World's End is the name of the sothern tip of the island Tjøme in Vestfold, 26 km south of Tønsberg. This place is a popular destination with beautiful scenery, small islands, fishing, good swimming and great views.
